Description:3) Mazurka – Superimposition of 3/4 and 6/8 whilst still maintaining the accented 2nd beat of the traditional dance.

Description:4) Minuet and Trio – A delicate melody dominates in the minuet whilst the trio is for the most part rhythmically based.

Title of Work:Algorithmic Composition A

Description:The Works ‘Algorithmic composition A’ and Algorithmic composition B’ were written by manipulation of the letters Y,S,S,C, and A. These are the initials of friends. They were manipulated algorithmically and the results for rhythmic and pitch were altered until the two works emerged. They were then fed into the computer and the machine then produced the synthesised sound you hear. This is a completely different way of making music.

Title of Work:Glissening on Spring

Description:This piece is written for 'Cello acompanied by Vln I and II, Vla and Bass. It offers a good opertunity for a cellist of reasonable standard to play music of interest without being held back as the other parts in the work are of a much easier standard whilst still being musical and interesting.

Description:String Quartet - This work shows the deveopment of a flighty theme through different moods musical transformations. It is periodically juxtaposed with more homophonic sections where chords slowly morph into each other.
